Making Italian Knot Cookies -
It's been a family affair here lately at Italian American Girl. Last week my mother made Italian Stuffoli, this week I took the opportunity to film my sister, Maria and niece making Italian knot cookies. We only do these projects once a year and I wanted to share the process with you.

Italian Knot Cookies
For those of you missing the last post on myself, sister and mom making Italian knot cookies. Here posted to the left is my sister's batch of Italian knot cookies. She makes these unbelievable tasting cookies with such love and real authentic tactics. She learned from the best, my mom. This recipe is actually my mother's version of the Italian knot cookie. These cookies are such a hit over the holidays that my sister takes baking orders from friends and local people wanting trays of Italian knot cookies. The presentation is beautiful too. I'll post more on my sister, Meri and her cooking skills soon.

Authentic Italian Cookies.
I'm at my sister's house today, we're making Italian cookies. Ok, for those of you this is the real deal cookie, not that store bought crap or pawned off recipe from someone who thinks they're Italian. These cookies are straight out of Calabria. Speaking of Calabria, my mother is off to Italy tomorrow. So, in order to get some of the Italian baking done before she leaves we've embarked on the big assembly line of making cookies. We're making Italian knot cookies with the frosting and colorful toppings, then we'll move onto a very simple Italian cookie with some Sambuca. I will say, I'm more of the spectator than baker. My sister, Meri is the cookie and Italian food expert. I will post the pictures online as well for your viewing. I am off to bake! Ciao.
